Cellphone service providers around the United States are constantly competing with one another, changing their policies and offers to meet the needs of users. With so many offers in place, choosing the right provider takes time and changes based on what services a user is looking to gain. Knowing that families and individuals are constantly hunting for the best service and deals, we decided to do some research around the Google Trends of every state from 2012 all the way to 2017 to see the top cellphone service providers. For the most part, it is not a close competition.
AT&T and Verizon Wireless are the most sought-after providers in a majority of the states with Verizon taking 42 states in 2012. However, AT&T seems to be the only major competitor providing services for 17 states in 2013. Other providers pop up in the competition here and there but never really take hold, with the exception of Sprint in Kansas.
Over the last six years, Verizon has been number one compared to its other four competitors, making it a dominator as far as cellphone providers go. So, if you’re in the market for a new provider, make sure you check out the competition!
