Toll-free Verification: The SMS Industry Change You Can’t Ignore

If you use a toll-free number to text your customers, an industry-wide change will soon (like this summer-soon) require you to “verify” your number.

A toll-free number is one that starts with 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 or 833. And whether you’re a SimpleTexting customer, or you use another texting service, or you’re just thinking about getting started with texting — we’re here to help you make the smoothest transition possible. 

The alternative? If your number isn’t fully verified by September 30, 2022, you won’t be able to send messages. And to get verified by that date, you need to submit your application by September 1 to ensure there is time to process it.

Yes, seriously.

Why is This Happening?

Let’s state the obvious: no one likes changes like this. But there’s some upside here. Verifying your toll-free number will help you:

  • Avoid being blocked by carriers
  • Help your messages be delivered on time
