Reminders Sync with Google Calendar

Help Your Clients Remember Their Appointments

Your customers’ lives are hectic, so it’s understandable that sometimes their upcoming appointments slip their minds. A well-timed text message can be the difference between a no-show and an on-time arrival. Make scheduling more efficient and cut down on lost revenue with SimpleTexting’s appointment reminder feature.

Integration with Google Calendar

SimpleTexting syncs with Google Calendar to let you manage appointment reminders from within Google’s easy-to-use interface. You can set how much in advance the reminder should be sent and SimpleTexting will automatically send reminders that amount of time before the client’s appointment. Additionally, you can set blackout times to ensure that customers don’t receive a text in the middle of the night. Our services also allow you to text customers and ask to confirm, cancel, or reschedule via text.

Setting Up Appointment Reminders

Before you start, make sure you’re logged in to the Google Account you’ll be using for scheduling appointments. After you log in to SimpleTexting, navigate to Apps > Reminders. Google will ask permission for SimpleTexting to access your calendar. Click Allow, then select the calendar you’ll be using.

Next, you’ll arrive on a page to set up your calendar. Enter your title and configure your automated reminders. After that, check the Prompt to confirm / cancel / reschedule box if you want to give your customers these options via text message. Check the box if you want to be notified by email every time someone replies to confirm, cancel, or reschedule. After you’re done configuring, click Save.

Note: You must put the phone number of the customer into the appointment name within Google Calendar. For example, the appointment title can be “2125558888 – John Smith.” Spaces or dashes within the phone number are not allowed and the phone number must come first, like in the example.

SimpleTexting will automatically sync with Google Calendar once appointments are scheduled in Google Calendar. You can see scheduled reminders in SimpleTexting by browsing to the Reminders tab.
